Umat muslim di penjuru dunia bersuka cita dalam menyambut serta merayakan kelahiran suri tauladan bagi seluruh umat. Banyak perayaan yang dilakukan dalam memperingati Maulid Nabi, seperti pembacaan shalawat nabi, pembacaan syair, bahkan pengajian dan dzikir bersama pun kerap dilakukan. Tidak hanya itu, di berbagai daerah kerap dilakukan tradisi-tradisi unik dalam merayakan hari kelahiran Nabi Muhammad SAW. Gunungan merupakan tumpukan hasil bumi yang menjadi simbol kemakmuran Keraton Yogyakarta. Buah dan sayuran serta makanan tradisional yang terdapat di gunungan, dibagikan kepada masyarakat setelah pengarakan selesai dilaksanakan. 2. Bungo Lado  Tradisi khas Padang Pariaman, Sumatera Barat ini dilakukan oleh masyarakat setempat dalam menyambut kelahiran Nabi Muhammad SAW. Tradisi Bungo Lado dilakukan sebagai bentuk syukur kepada Allah SWT dan Nabi Muhammad SAW. Dalam rangkaiannya, setelah mengarak pohon uang, masyarakat sekitar akan menyumbangkan uang tersebut untuk kesejahteraan umat seperti untuk pembangunan masjid.
